Default Obd2a into Obd2b

Hey guys been awhile since I’ve been on here and I’ve really tried to dig around before making a possible duplicate thread, but no luck.

Okay heres the deal, I have a 99 civic ex D16y8 with a p2p ECUs witch I know is Obd2b and I’m wanting to swap a B16a sir ii that comes with a p2t 98 year ECU witch is Obd2a.

So how do I got about this swap given the behind the dash harness is Obd2b but the motor and ecu im getting is Obd2a? and I’m pretty sure the p2p ECU will not work with the B16a swap so therefore I would have to use the p2t ECU right?

Is it as simple as getting a jumper or ?

P.S sorry if I was just to blind to find a thread that covers all this.

Physically everything will swap over

you will have to convert the 99 ex dizzy plug to obd2a
you will have to tap into rpm from driver shock tower

you have 2 options
get a obd2b engine to obd2a ecu adapter which goes I believe $80-150 on ebay and then your obd2a ecu will work fine

or get a obd2b to obd1 ecu jumper harness
then get a chipped obd1 ecu with the engine basemap.

either or works

Use the obd2b to obd2a route if you just wanna use what you got

go obd1 if you plan on tuning it later down the road
