OBD2a harness to OBD2b motor, crank sensor different?
I am putting a 1997 civic cx harness onto a 2000 civic b16a2. I have everything connected and it worked fine except for the crank sensor. The connectors are different. The Sensor coming from the motor has 2 wires going to it while the connector on the harness has 3 wires in it. Both do have a blue wire with red tracer and a white wire with a red tracer. The harness connector has an additional brown wire with a black tracer. Do I cut off the connector on the harness and put on the one that should be there and disregard the brown one? Any advice is appreciated.
After I posted that thread I realized that your original post actually did say what to do, which is splice in the other connector. Why is it that you responded with something different now then? will the splicing the other connector work like you said?
One is a bypass and one is a conversion. The bypass is usually used on engines that don't have the CKF, JDM engines, but either will work.
