Default Obd2 query- Katman?

What are the facts in regards to OBD2 96-98 (not obd2"b") hondas compensating for airflow increases, base timing adjustments (distributor adjustment), and the like...Is it true that they "learn" what adjustments you have made or added and re-adjust to get back to as close to stock as possible, negating any mods you have made?

not really, each generation of ECU gets more advanced. with the OBDII (USDM specs) you seem to have few more sensors appearing, this is to help combat any defective or any sensor or tuning which are out of specs. specs in these case are LEV or ULEV which must be met, therefore any mods which do not set a CEL code the ecu can account for therfore adjust the mixtures accordingly.

the more mods you have the more trouble the ecu will have to compensate for this, and may set off a CEL because of this.

are you better off with harness covnerter + OBDI ECU, it all depends on the mods you have as well as where you're going with the car
