Default OBD2 Motor on OBD1 Harness?

ok heres the skinny, i have a 1998 / 2000 gsr motor, in my 95 gsr, theft recovery.

the harness was all cut up and i tried to resolder a new on ein, but.. that didnt happen, sooo.

i have a 95 del sol harness here (dohc vtec) will my motor run with that instead?

i know that there is one plug missing on the pass side shock tower, but its for the Crank Speed Fluctuation Sensor (something i am not running anyway.)

you would have to add the IAB wires if you use the del sol vtec harnes, but otherwise
it should work fine.

So, you're trying to apply an OBD1 harness on an OBD2 engine? thats not gonna work if you don't change the distrbutor, injectors, and alternator to OBD1 B-series type....or at least swap the plugs out on your OBD1 harness to OBD2 plugs (have fun doing that, though).

You're better off running a US OBD2 engine harness on your OBD2 engine (whichever OBD2 type your engine is). It will plug into your 95 GSR's main OBD1 harness plugs on the passenger side shock tower, and you can still use your OBD1 ecu ...like you're already doing.

yeah, i was standing there for that game....not fun. nick, i have no insite on this matter, but i do have something to say. beating the **** out of that goddamn car is not gonna get it running any faster. i dont really care how long it takes to get this thing running. i know yur gonna tell me i have no idea what im talking about cause its not my car, but this is one of those points in a project where u have to sit on it. i dunno, but u need to chill with that thing. cause if u keep up this bullshit with punching it, yur gonna do damage thats gonna put u over the edge. theres too much time and money into that machine to do it. watever, like i said, not my project, but a piece of my pride goes in that thing. so does other peoples. my two cents, im done. hope it gets fixed....

OK, Allow me to clear this up.

You need an OBD2 ENGINE harness which will plug into the OBD1 CHASSIS harness. You can use whatever ECU you like (P28 or P72) as long as it's OBD1 (although the stock P28 is going to run a little lean on top)

The Post 1995 DelSol VTEC engine harness will work

that is what i have. i have a obd2 ITR engine harness, and a 1995 del sol DOHC vtec chassis harness. the car turns over, but will not run. with the soldered harness it worked, sorta.
