there are simple number codes on the hondata website. i don't know how to retrieve them from the computer, though. i have a helms manual which has a list of all the possible diagnostic trouble codes. i bought a scanner by Actron which retrives the codes...this way when that stupid light comes on i can know right away what it is. it was 200 bucks, but if you get that and a helms manual you'll be set.

you might be able to get rid of some of those codes with OBD I.

i have the helms manual. it lists all the obd-2 codes in it. you check them by locating your ecu then jumpering the service connector above the ecu. then you turn the car on and the cel light will blink. long blinks for the first digit. then short blinks for the second digit if needed. ie one long blink pause 3 short blinks is code 13. then cross reference with the table in the helms manual. if your working on a car you yourld have some type of service manual. it comes in handy

look on the kickpanel on the right side you will see a green rubber boot take it off and you will see 2 connectors one with three wires and one with 2 wires. You will need a paperclip or a wire to jump those 2 wires together. when you do turn the ignition switch to on NOT start. then check your check engine light. if there are codes one long code means 10 and short ones count as 1. so four long ones and three short ones is 43
