OBD1 in OBD2 car - How to check code?
Like title says, Ive searched, but ive come up two things...
"jump D4 to a ground and see the light flash" - What wires D4? which connector does this mean? ON the ecu? BY the ecu?
also, people say something about grounding a wire on the pass. side shock tower under the hood- which wires are theses?
My car is a '97 integra with p72 w/ a OBD2a-OBD1 jumper to a OBD1 p72 ecu.
I get a code right at startup and cant figure out how to check it....
EDIT: Heres what Im dealing with:
2ecus, both p72, OBD1 on top, OBD2a on bottom:
Heres what under teh kick panal looks like, and the jumper harness. (The extra wires are for vtec - it used to be an LS)
And heres the whole thing:
Which wires? How can I check a code?
[Heres the whole problem... When I run OBD2a - its fine for around a day, then I get 2 codes:
P0420 - Catalyst manfuntion
P0453 - EVAP system pressure high
SO.... i figure I switch to OBD1 b/c obd1 isn't as picky about that kinda emmision crap. I buy the harness- as far as i can tell its wired right - and I turn on teh car and get a code right away - Im trying to figure out what code it's throwin... ]
EDIT: Okay found a nice link - anserewed my oun question. Well anyway hope this link helps other people:

EDIT #2: By the way, the code I was throwing when swtiching from ODB2-1 was b/c the IAB valve on the GSR manifold is wired differntly from OBD2 to OBD1. OBD2 requires a negavitve ground, while OBD1 rquires a 12v source. I think thats right, if that dosent work, reverse it
