OBD1 internals in OBD2 distirbuter case?
I dont think so....although I've never tried it.
what's your ultimate goal though with doing this?
I know that if you need an ignitor or internal coil you can use any OBD2 SOHC's internals in an OBD2 b-series distributor. Same goes for 92-95 B & D series distributors and 88-91 civic/ 90-91 integra.

The reason Im doing this is because Im STUPID!!!! When I did my LS/Vtec conversion I decided to use my LS distributer so I had to cut the Vtec side leg off. Well anyways, I cut the wrong leg off, the one leg that I needed!!!!!! Luckly my friend let me use one of his distributers, but he'll need that on back soon, So since my distributer internals are still good, Im going to just transfer my internals to another non-working distruters case. I found one from a guy on h-t for $20 shipped, but its a obd2 b20 distributer. Im just curious if it will work.
You will prolly need the OBDI dist. (at least the housing) The internals of your OBDII will work and you can transplant them, but the bolt pattern of the OBDII will not match up to the OBDI head.
So the internals work, but the housing is what makes it different.

Im running a OBD2 Vtec distibuter right now. It was converted to OBD1, but the casing is from a 2000 SI.
unless I misread...

I have a OBD2 Vtec distributer RIGHT NOW on my 1989 b16a head. The distributer is not mine(I need to give it back to its owner), so I just wanted to know if I can put the internals of my OBD1 LS distrubter into a 97 OBD2 b20 distributer?
