Is OBD1 intake manifold better then OBD2?
I have a civic hatch with B18C1 swaped and heard that OBD1 intake manifold is better then OBD2, and if its true, i was thinking of getting a skunk 2 manifold, would that make a noticable difference, if so how much?
obd is all about emissions, not flow of the air in the motor. with a b18c mani to a skunk2, you will lose midrange power but gain some in the top. the skink2 is just single runner which is better for haulin *** at the upper limit of the motor. hope that answered your question.
Yeah, that really helps. Is there any other manifold that would help with the midrange speed of the car, trying to get a good time at the 1/4's.

well, the stock manifold is fine for stock cams, but if you have aftermarket or even R cams; then you could benefit from the skunk manifold

If you want good 1/4 mile times you focus on the top-end, not the mid-range. The stock IM is designed for mid-range. Have you seen GS-R dyno charts before? The Skunk2 will move the powerband higher.

since you only have the fuel rail and cam gears, i would stay away from changing your manifold. i have a friend who has a skunk2 mani and in the bottom end he has like NO power. the powerband was just moved higher. he might have gotten a bit more peak power but at the loss of a great launch and shitty midrange. if you want something better for your stock internals, just port and polish your stock IM or have someone do it for you. Buy an extra off someone on here and practice yourself even. read into it and it can give great results.
