obd1 civic electrical issues
Hello,
-The car (94 civic hatchback cx with del sol main harness, vtec motor harness) has been on jack-stands for months while building it, iv had the motor in twice and it started perfect each time until today
-Only thing I have changed since last start up is the battery and the distributor cap (I cracked the other one) and iv done allot of welding on the car but the ecu and battery was unplugged each time.
Tried to start it last night and the 15 amp fuse for the PGM-FI blew, along with no dash lights. So I picked up some fuses today. Started with unplugging the fuel pump, then the injectors and the fuse still blew. Then I unplugged the green plug on the alternator and the fuse did not blow, however the under-hood fuse box started smoking real bad.
After unplugging the positive lead on the alternator same thing. Unplugged everything from the bottom of the under-hood fuse box and plugged in the 3 wire (white/red white and white/black?) and determined that was causing the smoking issue. de-ppined the 3 wires, plugged each one in individually and the box no longer smoked. plugged everything back in and it seems to be good.
Iv tested all the grounds I can find (Except grounds going into the ecu) along with the ignition switch (4/4 wires have power when there supposed to). Im getting no spark and I dont think im getting fuel from the injectors (still have to test) but the fuel pump is priming and main relay is clicking. Iv tested every fuse in both boxes multiple times after doing something differently and none are blowing.
The main "Change" I got was when I unplugged the alternator and the fuse box started smoking. The starter will still crank over and the fuel pump will prime every time.
Things that do work:
Windshield wiper motors
Starter motor
Main relay/other relay clicks
Fuel pump
PLEASE HELP!
