Default obd0-obd1 conversion help!

i just recieved my conversion harness from evoulutions motorsports

i have a chipped p28 ecu

i hook all the extra wires up the conversion harness and my car wont start
im wondering if this could be somthing wrong with the distributor or somthing

my setup is a d16y8 motor in an EF but its running obd0 so i already have the obd2 distributor hooked up

would i still need to repin the distributor
anyone have any other ideas please help me out im going to get tuned next weekend and need my uberdata in thanks!

what he said plus you need a 4 wire O2 sensor if you haven't done that already. An OBD2 dizzy is missing the crank sensor, which would be located where the oil pump would be on an OBD2 motor. OBD0 and 1 have it in the distributor.

good way to mis inform someone.lol

for one the car will start with no 02 sensor, and he has a chipped p28 which probably doesnt look for a 02.

second of all the obd0/1/2 distributors do have the cyp " cylinder postion sensor" you are talking about the ckf "crank fluctuation sensor" which is disregarded in his situation. but regardless you need either a obd1 or 2 distributor

and about the starting try swappin the white wires on the distributor

No he doesn't. Since he has the same motor and distributor, all he needs to do is repin the distributor plug.

Why don't you try calling the company you bought the harness from and get some technical support. Atleast that is what I pride my harnesses on.

so, what about the CKP sensor? since obd 0 and obd1 read different pulses and are NOT compatible? one reads double the pulses (cant remember exactly)
I have tried it and the car run like ****

He can not run the OBD0 distributor on an OBD1/2 ecu. If he has the crank position sensor in at the pump, and the distributor to match.....which it sounds like it to me.....then he can run that distributor.

i hooked everything up again and it did not start

im getting plenty of spark so that leads me to belive the dizzy is fine

i have the full y8 motor with the y8 dizzy

i knwo the ecu is not bad because i put it in my friends car and it fired up but ran like hell becasue of the programing of the chip

im not too sure what else to check and how to check for it

any suggestions?
