O2 sensor and Heated o2 sensor
what car do you have? OBD I or OBD II. Either case find the primary heated o2 sensor, and replace it. Usually on the header, sometimes on the cat converter.
heated o2 has 6 wires versus non heated with 4 wires, the heated just brings the 02 up to temp when you first start the car in the morning to more accurately measure rich lean mixtures and fuel trim, the primary o2 would probably be on the header like JDMTyPeRHaTcH said but for sure it is somewhere in front of the catalytic converter. also wut kind of car is it?

Not to be an ***, but, you really don't have a clue. Let me correct your statement.
A heated o2 sensor on any honda have 4 wire. A non heated o2 on any honda have one wire. However, On a lean burn system like a vx or cx honda civic have a NTK 5 wire wide band o2 sensor. I'm not sure were you got 6 wire for heated or non heated with 4 wire.....

Anyone know what size resistor to wire inline to make the ECM think that the heater still works?? I am usng a narrowband output on my WB02 and need to wire up a resistor so that my ECM isnt throwing a heater code. I tried a 30 ohm, but it got so hot I thought it would catch on fire.

Well it's a heater so I can almost guarantee it's an inductive load, and only partially resistive. Takl to falconGSR he's going through this same issue currently.
Also, I dont' believe the CX came with the 5-wire wideband O2 sensor.

Yeah, I was the one who helped him out when he was asking about adding the narrowband curcuit to his Techedge 1.0. I ran 3 100 ohm resistors in paralell and around 30 ohms is what I measured the 02 sensor at when it was warmed up, and this is also wht the Helms says it should be at. Did'nt work though. If anybody figures anything out let me know so I can fix this.

The CX uses a single wire o2.
If the ecm does not see that the o2 sensor heater is operating, it will turn the check engine light on and it will also cause the system to operate in open loop, ignoring the o2 sensor output. There are companies that sell o2 simulaters that can be used to simulate on o2 reading to the ecm, for example if you were running a test pipe on an obd2 car to simulate the secondary o2 and not throw a catalyst deterrioration code. Mabye one of these could be adapted to fix this problem. The rear o2sensors have heaters in them too so this simulator must have a way of "fooling" the ecm that the heater is operating.

Thats great but the guy never said it was for a Honda nor did I say it was for a Honda, most new cars now have quite a few wires on their o2's so I was just giving him a generic answer to his question thats why i asked in the end what kind of car he had, i agree with you about what i said would be incorrect for a Honda so thanks for correcting me.

What you never seen them before? I mean a 6 wire isnt unheard of, its getting more common these days with the newer cars, Have you seen 8 wire 02 sensors?btw some cars even have 4 02 sensors!!!!

I recently got b20 swap in my 98 civic dx, and my car is throwing a CEL code 61. I first thought it was a bad primary O2 sensor so I tried swapping it in favor of a good one this morning and it still came back on after 15 mins of driving. What can be wrong, the wiring?.
If anybody can help me, please do so. The CEL is buggin...

I have worked for Honda for years and with the independed import shops as well. But within my 8 years in the field, I have never seen or hear of a 6 wire and 8 wire o2's. perhaps, You can mention one? As far as I know, the automotive industry only uses 1, 2,3, 4, and 5 wire o2 sensor to monitor down stream exhaust

I have a friend that works for VW of Seattle that is a master tech. I will call him tomorrow to confirm about 6 or 8 wire o2 set up.

sure have fun, i have one around here somewhere, if i can find it i will post up a pic, btw jw would you know how much a crossmember costs for a 96 gsr, or is it something I can even buy, I know its an Acura thing and not really a Honda thing so pardon my mistake but if you do know could you please tell me thanks

okay... On your last 3 post you asked if I seen a 4 o2 sensor before, right? well to answer that question, yes. Just last week, I had 00 sentra 4 cylinder with 4 o2 sensor.
