Default o2 sensor on 88 si

i know that on most hondas the o2 sensor is located on the header. it usually has a few wires and one is the signal wire. well my problem is that, i was hooking up my a/f gauge when i noticed that what appears to be my o2 sensor only has one wire. i didn't want to hook it up because i question if it is the right wire. so your input would be helpful.

Correct...pre-1992 cars have a single wire O2 sensor. Hook it up and you will be fine

The o2 sensor you are talking about is the EGR valve, not o2 - correct?

The proper o2 sensor would be before the cat right? I am currently setting up an A/F gauge myself, getting a little confused since I have a JDM B20A, different setup from the USDM.
