Default This o2 problem is REALLY pissing me off, Someone plz help

Ok, I am desperatly trying to fix this o2 problem of mine. I cant find any o2's in the few and far between j/yards in my area. What all o2's can I use on my B16a? Will any single wire ones work? Also, is there ANY way I might be able to fix my problem w/o having to get the threads welded into the top of my DC Sports header (It looks pretty right now, and I dont want to have to do that). I think 1 of my o2's is bad...so I have both wires going to the good one right now and it's just not getting hot enough. HELP.

JB

alright, I have exactly the same setup. 90 crx, b16, dc headers. DO NOT SPLICE THEM!!! This will run two cylinders rich and two lean. Maybe not to the point it will hurt anything now, or soon even. But if you are planing on keeping your car for a while, or getting the maximum performance out of it, don't do it. Get 2 new bungs welded right where the headers come to 2 pipes from 4. One on each runner. That should solve all your problems. They are not getting hot enough because I assume you are using the bung hole on the dc headers way back by the cat. This is way too far from the engine to get hot enough.

As far as o2 sensors go, just go to autozone(or any store comparable) and buy a crx o2 sensor (I think bosche are like 20 bucks) and that will work fine.

Thanks for the info. I will go grab some new o2's tomorrow. Should I get the actual o2's welded in, or should I get the threads taken off a j/yard header and welded in so I can screw in the o2's? If I do get the actual o2's welded in, what if one of them breaks in a few months? Can they be reheated and taken back out?

You also said get a CRX o2? I called Napa and they said $56+ tax. What all other models/cars have the single o2 and I might be able to get for cheaper?

JB

[edit]

I forgot to ask also...how do I know which o2 bung to get welded into which runner?

56 dollars???? NO WAY!! I got boshe (sp?) single wire o2 sensors for a crx for like 15 bucks a pop! At autozone. Then I took them to a muffler shop (midas I think) and told them to get some nuts that they would thread into and had those nuts welded to my header. Done and Done. It was easy as pie.

When Im had my DC header installed, the dork (without my knowing) applied a tourch too loose th the "primary" and distroyed the heating element. this would only work with the three wire unit........

Whelp, I got 2 new o2's...thanks Ian (91sifreak). (Hey Ian, did you get a hold of Mark about that a/c piece? I'll give you a call tomorrow..JB). Anyways, I went and got the bungs yesterday (Thanks again Ian for referring me to RacingWorks). Now I just have to find a place to weld them tomorrow. I had a quote from Meineke for $50 to weld them..and I'm like fawk that. Ian...Dorian said he would need like 3 days with the header, and I dont have my stock one available so I just grabbed the bungs from him. So hopefully I will be able to get them done tomorrow. I also put all new speakers in today (5 1/4 Planet Audio P5252X's in the back, 6 1/2 Koiiler 250watt's in the front). It sounds freaking awesome now. I'm also put in my 3" neons up under the glovebox/steering wheel so I actually have light...and tomorrow the tweeters are going up in the dash....This has been a good week. Tomorrow night heading out to the track and seeing how I can do w/ some decent o2 readings. Ian...if you want we'll probably be heading down at like 5:30...gimme a call.

That's about it right now guys & gals, I guess I should start studying for that College Algebra exam tomorrow.....College, gotta love it.
