Default O2 extender and header install

My new header didn't come with an O2 extender and I need to extend my rear sensor about 4 inches. Can I just go pick up some wire and spilce/solder it back together? Car is 96 Civic EX. Thanks for any help

I thought the signal wire is shielded, so you just have to know that when you do the splicing. But I'm not sure if it's shielded on all years, all models.

The wire is typically shielded - RG316 can be used.

I've got the O2 sensor extended and soldered back together and it's not throwing any codes so I guess thats a good thing. Thanks for the help

Now for the next problem:

I have everything all put back together but I have a leak where the header meets the cat. What do I use for gaskets?

Could the flange on the Cat be the wrong size? It's a carsound Cat with the stock civic flange welded on.
