Default Not Satisfy w/ the dyno result!!!

Guys, just dynoed my car today and i'm not quite happy.
Here are my mods:
-Apexi GT header, Stock intake box w/ cold air pipe, Type 1 statiness mid pipe (no cat) and mugen twin loop.
-spoon cams
-spoon cam gears (not yet tuned)
-Excedy Clutch and Toda flywheel
-spoon spark plug wires.
-Apexi VAFC (wide band sensor tuned)

I only get 154.1 HP and 104.8 Torque best run.

i remember my friend's hatch w/ b16 and I/H/E earn 147HP at the wheel already.
since i have done so much more than him.. i only get around 7HP more???

pls advice

is the car tuned? maybe you should change your spark plugs, change the oil and do some little basic tune up things. oh yeah, what kinda car is it on?

sorry guys, it's 99-00 si. B16A motor.

oil has been changed like 2 weeks ago.
Spark plugs were replaced a month ago.

well, as i said, my friend w/ just I/H/E, Greddy header, cheap intake (mushroom style), and 5 zigen fireball straight pipe exhaust, still can get 147HP at the wheel

for my car, i have toda flywheel and excedy clutch, spoon cams and cam gears, vafc, etc.... shouldnt' me getting more than 7HP than my friend's setup?

Thanks

Who did you have tune it? Tunning is crucial and you may need more of it, possibly you may need to play with the cam timming for best results.

do you have a "Spoon" ecm? if not then that may be part of the issue. Definately get it tuned. You'll see a little more than 7whp.. though you don't really have any other mods that will give you more HP than the cams. The I/H/E MIGHT give you 5 whp. and the cams should be good for another 10-15ish.

You have a 1.6L motor, with very mild cams, a restrictive muffler, and spark plug wires. Where you planning on making 20-25+whp or something? You need to tune the cams but don't expect too much more.

If you had done some research, you could have built a ls block w/ itr pistons, arp rod bolts, and a fresh hone for the price of those spoon cams and had closer to 175-180whp and alot more torque. Also drop that mugen twin loop, they don't flow for ****...

true.. I love n1 muffler too. but the thing is they get too loud.. I used to have buddyclub spec 2 exhaust. Loud as hell... that's why i picked mugen.

anyways, thanks for the advice. ^_^

if you wanted more power you should ahve gotten more aggressive cams like jun3's, toda b's, skunk 2's or ef-1's

The only diff your setup has are the cams, you need to adjust your fuel curve with that afc to pull some power from them.
what did your power band look like?
id imagine you have room at the top of the rev range, add some fuel spend some time on the dyno adjust the cam sprockets and you should be happier.
The afc should pay for itself in allowing you to tune for the cams.
good luck holmes

Bigger cams do not always mean more power/torque. Everything needs to work together as a system.

In most cases bigger cams without higher compression and a better flowing head will not yield the gains one would expect.

I don't know much about the Spoon cams. I have been told that they are "more aggressive" than Toda SpecA cams and comparable to SpecB cams. With your setup stock ITR/CTR cams, Toda SpecA, or Skunk2 stage 1 cams would be ideal. Raise your compression and do some tuning. After doing this I think you will be happy with the results.

Another thing that needs to be considered is the dyno itself. All dynos read differently. I would not get too hung up on the peak number. You want more area under the curve once you are done tuning. Use the dyno to measure differences in output before and after tuning. Who cares what the numbers are in relation to anybody else's.
