is this normal? (kyb-agx shock related)
for those of you with this shock, can you please tell me if you're rear agx shocks are setup like this...
on my car, the lock nut seems to not go down that far. once the top of the nut passes the flat portion of the top of the shock, it won't go down any farther. i tried tightening it some more today, but it wouldn't budge at all. i tried using a vise grip, and adjustable wrench, etc... and the nut just won't budge anymore. so right now, the only visible part of the shock that i can see is the flat portion, i don't see any threads.
is this how some of your guys' shocks are setup? please tell me.. i would like to know. thanks in advance.

You may have damaged the threads on top of the shaft when you were installing it. Unfortunately, the way it's designed, if you try and hold the shaft on the flat spot with an adjustable wrench or something, you run the risk of damaging them even further.
You could try getting the proper sized tap and try and clean up the threads, then see if the nut will go.
