Default Non vtec build

So my d15b7 got a burnt valve and I picked up a d16a6 head off a friend for free and decided to put it on I have been searching around to find out what belt to use but people say use the belt for the block and others say that is too tight. SO... Is there someone that has done this that can tell me what belt to use? I got the d16y8 head gasket and cam gear.

Also I got a new o-ring for the oil jet is there a better way of taking it out than using a screw? I dont want to damage it

I think that is prob right the y8 cam gear has the same amount of teeth and is the same size as the b7 and the A6 head is the same casting as the b7 so it would make sense

ok another question when i put the head on the block it looks like the valves when fully extended are going to hit the piston am I looking at something wrong or is there a different head gasket I should be using? Currently I have a 2 layer d16y8 head gasket.

the valves shouldnt be fully open while the piston is up. rotate cylinder 1 to TDC and rotate the camshaft so that the timing marks are correct before installing the cylinder head.

right that makes sense bc the intake valves are closing as the #1 piston reaches the top. and when the number 1 cylinder is at tdc the valves that are partially open are on #2 and #3. What was throwing me off is that I was comparing the distance the valves stick out on the a6 to the b7 and there is a pretty big difference. If anyone has experience with using the y8 head gasket on this setup should I dremmel the coolant holes on the gasket to line up perfect or are they ok partially covered? I have read that ppl do it both ways but has anyone had problems either way?

I did verify that you are right it is the b7 belt. I had a lot of ppl telling me I had to use the belt to match the head so thanks for your input
