Noise?
I don't know a lot about cars and I figured I would ask my question here before taking it back to the dealership. I just bought my car in December (2001 Civic LX 2dr auto). There are about 58k miles on it. Well about a week after I had it, I went to start it one day and it wouldn't start. A tow truck came and got it, took it to the dealership and they ended up taking the car apart and then told me that the intake valve cover needed to be replaced- they replaced it, gave it back to me and the next day- it wouldn't start, again. They came and got it again and told me then that the intake VALVE needed to be replaced- my parents got really mad because this car is supposed to be certified, etc. so the dealership told my parents they would just put a brand new engine in it (my parents threatened that they wanted their money back). I got the new engine and now it works great. The only thing is- yesterday my check engine light came on (the gas cap is on right, so i know that's not why is it on) and when I stop at a red light- a ticking noise starts, but when I let off the brake to accelerate the noise seems to fade away. Does anyone know what's going on?
Ticking Noise could be a bad Belt... it could be a plethora of things.. I would suggest not even trying to diagnose the problem and heading back to the dealership with anger.. Seems like these idiots cant get their act together.
