Default No reverse w/ 99 si tranny

I got a 99 si tranny on my b18c1 and yesterday I tried to put in reverse to pull out of my driveway and it won't even let you put the shift in the rev gear. All the others work fine. I'm thinkin it might be the reverse fork but, 5th is on the same and works fine. Grrrrrrr

I don't think so. I jacked the car up and got under it. I didn't see and damage at all. Also the linkage looked ok.

I drive an 00 Si with 18k on it and the tranny sucks compared to a GSR or LS. It seems to be more notchy and rough than all the other Bseries engine trannys. going into 3rd is often rough. NOt going into reverse is common for hondas but that is usually just the gear teeth not quite lined up, no big deal.

If you got time pull the tranny and open it up... I'm willing to bet that you have a bent fork or interlock... Good Luck

I suspect the fork in this. Anyway, haven't had a chance open it up. About how much is a fork?

Well, it used to work fine. Now, it won't even try to go in.

The rev gear selector arm work off of the 5th gear shift fork, so perhaps the finger on the shift fork that actuates the rev gear is bent?

5th is fine, i think, it feels a little different going into gear, but other than that it performs fine....
