No responce at all from my engine. HELP!!!
Ok here is whats up. I bought a 87 and 86 Honda Preludes. I was under the understanding that both ran and the 87 runs because I drove it home. The 86 is in way better shape than the 87 so I am planning on restoring it. Now I didnt attempt to start that one because there was no battery in it but was assured that it ran. So I bought a new battery and dropped it in. I connected the cables and got inside the car and turned the key. No responce at all. No lights no buzzers nothing. So I look at the 87 engine and compare it to the 86 and notice the the dist cap was not there. So I removed the dist cap, NGK plug wires, and some other peice (looks like a cylinder, and has something to do with the spark plugs) and swapped them into the 86. I put the key in again and nothing again. I dont know jack **** about engines.
Can someone please give me some suggestions on what might be the problem?
Thanks

If nothing lights up on the 86, I would suspect battery cables/connections and main fuses. If those check OK, then you're into the ignition switch itself and/or wiring harness.
I check all of the battery connections and fuses already. I think I should check out the ignition stuff. All of that is located in the steering wheel area right? Also where would the ECU be located? Did 86s come with ECUs? I really dont want to deal with the wiring harness unless someone can step me through it.
