No Oil thread again
Here is the deal. My fren's just got his english rebuilt. It turns out the oil pan was leaking. By the time he figure the oil was leaking the engine was running with no oil.
Now, I understand no oil = overheat. But he didn't see anything weird from the EGT gauge, the engine was running under 1400F the whole time. Up until the oil light comes on the dash board, he then realize the engine had no oil.
We had the mechanic fixed the leak and start the engine with oil. We didn't hear any knocking or weird sound. Now is the engine ok?? The engine is still boosting fine.. How can we ensure the engine is ok other than tearing it apart?
The engine was just rebuilt and alot of money and effort has been put into the block, this really sucks. On a side note, this is a completely built with sleeves forge pistons, stainless steel valves... maybe this is more heat tolerable.. and he got lucky???
