My check engine light came on this morning, but I haven't had a chance to check it yet.
I know one thing: i have lost the high cam you can feel the power die at about 4000 rpm
i am thinking I might have low oil because it has done this before, just not this bad. i put a little oil in it at the gas station and may have over filled it, is it possible the car has to much oil and is throwing a VTEC solenoid code?

if u don't change your oil regularly u might get some sludge which can clog the vtec solenoid and prevent it from functioning. one of my friends had this happen to his lude he didn't change the oilf for like 9000 miles and never chk'd it either and than his vtec wouldn't engage. he changed the oil (after an engine flush) and his vtec was fine. although this is a simple fix its worth a shot.

 

i change every 3,000 on schedule, i have recently taken my solenoid off and cleaned it after experiencing a similar problem before

 

I'm pretty sure whenever your CEL comes on, VTEC is disabled by the ECU. Sort of as a precaution I guess.
