NGV - Compressed Natural Gas conversion?
Hello all...
I've been considering trying out a conversion from gasoline to CNG on a D16Y8, as I have a few lying around. I'm not finding much information on conversions other than that there are companies that you can pay to convert your domestic to natural gas. There are only scant references here and there on the Web, and I haven't been able to find any books. Any experiences here?
Thanks.

only heard of natural gas conversions for bypassing smog...
check up http://www.k20a.org and look around for that

you would want to somehow purchase a wrecked civic gx 98-00 and convert EVERYTHING over. Trust me, it's not worth it.
the civic gx is made to run off of CNG, and it has a fuel tank in the trunk. You would have to get an entire new fuel tank, fuel lines, ecu, raise the compression in your engine. All kinds of ****.
i did the opposite, used a gx engine in a gasoline powered car. but It fucked up while i was getting it tuned because we didn't know how to use the timing gun lol.

The thing is that it's done in other counties at nominal cost. It shouldn't require much modification at all, and with a little ECU work, the installation could conceivably be done in twelve hours if all of the needed parts were known and at hand.
I don't mind rebuilding one of my D16Y8's to handle the higher compression and rust issues. I don't mind taking a week off work to be sure that it is done right and gain a lot of experience.
This is something that I don't mind dropping a couple of grand on to play around with and get a dual-fuel system working. After all, a lot of guys here spend more than a "couple of grand" on their turbos and then spend a time and a half on gasoline when the project is done. With as much driving as I do, I like the idea of being able to spend 60% as much on energy costs and not have to stop at the gas station.
A lot of this stuff is tax-deductible, anyway.
