Newbie...... SOHC cam adjustments
I'm new to this honda thing so pls forgive me if i do crap..
i recently tried to adjust an AEM variable cam sprocket on a SOHC Vtec, I gave it 2 degrees advance with no noticeable difference.... i didnt want to push it more than that cuz i dunno what sorta piston to valve clearance these engines come with especially when the rougher cam kicks in...
what is a safe amount of adjustment for better acceleration???
.. the car ran 17.66 & after the 2 degrees advance it ran 17.43.... is this the most i could expect?????
thanx

u need to make sure u have an adjustable FPR..u dont want to advance to much without a bump in fuel. if u are trying to make more top end power then retard, more low end, the advance (as far as sohc goes)
alot depends on rpm range and gearing.
More info on your setup would help, but basically the cam gear was wasted money for you.
BTW did you change the ignition timing when you changed the cam timing?
Tuning, the lost art.
