Default Newbie Question AEM Tru-Power Pullies

Who here has AEM Tru Power Pullies? How have they been working out? Someone told me that because it takes less power to rotate the pullies, less power goes to the alternator; is this tru? What could happen to my car ('92 Acura Integra) if this is tru?

I had AEM pullies on a 98 civic ex. Basically, less power will get to the alternator. Lights may dim at idle. Also, your AC won't be as cold. I say put the money toward some cams.

The AEM pulleys have NOTHING to do with the A/C.

They do give a noticable power increase in just about all sections of the power band... about 1-3 whp. The increase is particualarly noticable in the lower (1-3) gears.
You will note some dimming of your interior lights if you have a sound system (aftermarket) or an older alternator. You power steering will also feel different, a bit sluggish with a tendancy to understeer. No biggie, but in my opinion... build up some muscle and just take out your power-steering housing and belt.
If you install yourself, it's prolly worth the $70-$120 investment... otherwise, a shop will charge you as much as $150 to install. At $250+ installed, it's not worth it.

I personally had mine for a few months, then took them out. I did not like what they were doing with my charging system (I have quite a few electronic aftermarket pieces) and later just pulled the whole P/S assembly.
