Default New Tranny swap from CVT

I Currentley own a 97 Honda Civic D16y5 with a CVT Tranny... and it is being REALLY SHITTY lately and i've got no idea what to do! I wasnt sure about a few things and I thought if I could ask you guys? 1) Is it even possible to rebuild a CVT Tranny? 2) Would it even be worth it? 3) Can I just swap out the tranny for a tranny from another civic (or integra?) ? Which would be the better way to go? Which tranny's can I swap to? Thanks a lot!

From my student project in UC Davis (building a hybrid CVT Taurus). The pulley and belt once they are slipped it is almost impossible to get it back to the original shape. Since it is working but shitty, I guess they are worn and slipped then. Even if you can rebuilt it there is no one out there but maybe the audi guys know how to rebuilt them, so it may not be worth it.

Just get an auto tranny and swap it in, or replace it with another CVT from junk yard and call it a day.
