Default new rods...

A buddy of mine blew his motor... not ecaxtly sure what happened... something to his #1 cylinder. Anyway, after that he's decided to get out of the mnodded car scene and is parting out his setup. He will sell me his remaining 3 crower rods for 100 bucks. The one from the #1 cyulinder is trash, but I guess the other 3 are good. They are used, but in great condition. Is this a good deal? Can I buy a single rod somewhere to complete my set? If so, where can I get just one rod, and what's the best price?

i wouldn't buy the 3 rods because if you buy the 4th one, it would weigh different from the three (3). usually when you buy a set of rods or pistons, they will weigh about the same, maybe about a gram or two off from each other and are pakaged base on their weight . just letting you know whats up

You could still order the spare rod and then take all four to a machine shop where hopefully they would have a scale to balance them out for you.
