Default need your opinion on cam selection.

Hey, I am currently looking for a nice set of cams for an all motor b16 build i am in the process of doing. So far I have a ported/polished pr3 head with skunk2 dual spring valvesprings and skunk2 titanium retainers, super tech black nitride flat surfaced valves, new oem valve seals, and milled slightly. I was going to build the bottom end but decided I didn't really want to spend all the extra money, and i was hoping the head milling and valves would bring me close to 10.8:1 on the stock bottom end. Anyways, my question is this...I have seen some really really good numbers coming from the buddy club cams, and I can get a good deal on a set of buddy club stage 4's, but would they be overkill on my setup? I only plan to rev to 9k, so would i be better off with a set of BC s3's, or skunk2 stage 2's? Any info from some of you all motor guru's would be greatly appreciated.

I had an ITR with complete toda drivetrain, spec B cams and it was awesome. I had the motor completely rebuilt with everything King motorsports could offer. I was really happy with it until it got stolen. Pulled really hard though.

Yeah, I guess my main question is would the BC s4 cams be a feasible cam to use on my motor or would i put down shitty numbers because it wouldnt flow enough CFM for the lift/duration of the cams? I haven't really looked much into the Toda's, been looking more at either the BC or skunk2's. Where did you get the spec B's from and about how much did they run you? What did you rev out to?

I have seen a lot of people having trouble with skunk2 valvetrain products, so be careful. My motor revved to 10K, but I like to live safe, so I would only take her to about 9000. Check out this link: http://www.todaracing.com

Check out the racing engines link and the B16/ 18 info. Toda has worked with Mugen and Honda in several different projects, They use the same tecnology to design their products (cams) as Honda. It is a bit pricey but I will never use any other products besides theirs. I think its definately the best bang for the buck.

OH, btw Mike at IPS racing is the man, if you decide to go toda. He is on HT but I don't know what his username is. Tell him I referred ya

I was at King motorsports on friday, Clayton had a lot of good things to say about the skunk2 cams. In 2002 Realtime racing used the spec 2 cams in all of their ITR's in the world challenge series. Did you do a search and find any reviews on them in this forum?

i think the bc4's would be an overkill with the compression that you have

i ve run sk2 stg2 2 in a 11.5 :1 cr lsvtec and they ran great but they need high compression to work well with out the compression they really arent worth the $ over ctr/itr and the same with the bc 4s
