another thing: i think that in efforts to accomodate for more valve lift and rpm in the itr, that the itr outer intake springs are actually not as stiff as their b16a counterparts; the itr intake valves are shaved for weight reduction to offset this discrepency. so, taking the valvetrain over the stock b16a rev limit with lower spring pressure than stock, stock (heavier than itr) valves, and wilder (than b16a) cams could, as a combination, be the problem.

ok, thats what i think too, i think this happened cuz i was taking running it too high, but still, how do i explain all the scoring on the rocker arms and what about the vtec cutting in and out? I think the vtec might just be the solenoid or bad wiring, but still, help, thanks.

well they are still usable, its not like they are going to break. I was told by master mechanics at honda that they are definatly still usable, and that would not stop teh vtec from working either, so..............

i think that the scoring can happen when you float the valvtrain at high rpm. the springs can't quite keep the rocker pads pressed against the cams, so at some points, the lobes rotate and smack down against the rockers as the springs push them back up.

i could be entirely wrong by saying this, considering i don't know what your intentions were, but if someone came into my shop and wanted to purchase ITR cams and springs for his/her b16, i would definitely question why. if it was because they are cheaper than aftermarket ones, i would question how that person knew these cams and springs would work, and if they don't, how much damage would they cause and would they end up costing more in the long run because they have to be replaced? if this is your story, next time, either don't do the mod or do it right. spend a little more and go with something that's proven to work right. at least if it breaks that way, the company that sold you the parts may be responsible. </TD></TR></TABLE>

u must be really ignorant becasue everyone knows b16 heads are the exact same as itr heads. i have to give you a hahaha. because there are so many poeple that do this.

shouldve used itr retainers.
