Hi , I own a 97 Civic cx with a 96 Canadian GS-R engine.
The car has a lot of problems getting to 180kmh. that is as fast as it will go on the highway. The vtech seems to be working but i thought it would be more noticable than that. The car has a type r feul pump and a gsr catalitic. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this car isnt hitting 220 and up.
Please help. Cant seem to find the problem.

In lower gears, does it pull hard all the way up to redline? If it has plenty of power, its possible you might have a speed limiter in your ECU. You need to post more info on how its running.

 

It pulls all the way up to 8300rpm, I hear the v-tech kick in at 4800rpm and the butterflys open at 6200rpm.It feels ok in 1-2-3 but 4th sucks.
The car did the 1/4mile in 14.74 at 90 mph thats a slow mph.
I put the gsr feul pump in today but it started raining so i couldnt test it out ,but just driving it today didnt feel any different.
Very wierd and frustrating problem.
