my buddy has a zc motor he's working on for a customer and needs to know how to go about getting the correct parts. He needs to replace the headgasket, rod bearings/main bearings, and the rings. Can he get them at an autoparts store? Being that its the jdm zc, what parts would he ask for, someone told him that parts for a 88-89 teg would interchange. Is that correct?? Any info is helpful.
thanks

two zc engines. one is the sohc vtec which is the d16z6 offered in the 92-95 civics or the dohc which is the d16a1 from an 86-89 integra here in us, but nearly identical in every aspect but casting code, cams and ecu with different maps. go with oem. honda has the best quality compared to the auto parts stores.

If it's a DOHC ZC the '89 Integra kit will work. I know this because I just totally rebuilt mine. The only thing in the kit that won't work is the seals that go on the studs that hold the valve cover down due to the Integra valve cover bolting up different than the ZC.
