Default Y21 Trans and Cam gear line up????

Hello I just bought a motor (b18c) gsr from a local guy. He bought it from hmotors and I saw the trans sticker. It is a y21. He said that the 2nd and 3rd gear synchros are bad, so i'm gonna rebuild it before i put the motor in my car. I need help figuring out what motor it came out of, so i know what parts to order. Thanks

Also i was ripping the t-belt cover i noticed that the cam gear markers weren't in sync. When i turned to the crank to line up the marks in the middle, they didn't line up. They were lining up a little higher, not in the middle. Then the UP arrows on each cam gears weren't going together when i turned the crank. Can i get some feedback on this. Thanks

Here is a pic of the cam gears

The blue arrows are pointing to the UP arrows
The orange is pointing to the markers.

ummm did he try to drive it/ start it up like that

you may have a busted engine, i dunno for shure cuz i dont know if a gsr is an interference engine

first things first set the cams in the proper location before you do anything and make shure everything is at TDC before you try to start it

you may have gotten ripped, when you were spinning the engine did it seem hard to turn at some point and did you hear any grinding/contact noises /

also it looks like home boy has the intake cam in the exhaust cam location and vise versa

switch the cams
the up arrows should be at TDC and the two dashes/dots should be on the inside

Hmmm. Is there anyone else i can get some feedback from. You sure about the switched cams?? I was thinking why would he have it like that(previous owner)??? Well ya the only way to figure it out is to take the head off, but i would like to get some other peoples advice before i do anything else. Thanks.

Hmm started turning the crank again. It sounds like the air is just going past the rings and coming out the bottom. I don't think any air was coming out of the exhaust.

Man i'm really getting frustrated. I don't have some tools right now to take off the head, but i'm really scared to also. If anyone else think they can help me out that would be the BEST. Thanks
