Need Help Understanding
ok, here is the deal, lately when reading around i have been hearing people mention using 10w30 oil in the tranny. i was at a shop the other day and a guy replaced his clutch and they filled the tranny with it. my question is how is this possible? i thought you just use mtf or synchromesh and what not. is there any advantage to this?, or is it about the same weight as the tranny fluid?
im just curious, i tried searching and i didn't think to ask the guy.

thats what I have been told too. Honestly, if you are replacing the fluids, just buy the honda one. Its only like a buck more per qt. It does have additives to it. All you need is like between 2-3 qts too. Do it the right way. IMO that is.

ok thanks, i just wanted to know why people did it, thats all. so im guessing leaving it in too long will probably wear your tranny prematurely then.
