Hey guys,
This is kind of off-topic but I need some help.

First, I need to replace a rear brake disc off my truck. I can replace brake pads with my eyes closed but have never done a brake DISC before. How hard is it? I heard we need a special tool to take off/put on the springs? What kind of tool is this and where can I get it?

Also, another car of mine is completely dead now (not drivable). I believe it's either the tranny (manual) or the clutch is out. How can I tell if it's a clutch and not the tranny? When put in first, normally it should cut out the engine if you let go of the clutch but engine stills run now...also I can't seems to put it in gear anymore ... Is it the clutch? The car is on original clutch and has like 98K miles...thx.

 

springs are on drums, if you have rotors there are no springs. You might need to pack wheel beaings with grease, messy but not hard.

Sounds like a dead clutch.

 

Sorry, I meant drum brake...not disc.

How do I replace the shoes on the drum brakes? Do I need special tool (if any)?? Please give me some instructions.
