I really need a good answer to whether or not an LSD from a Type R tranny will fit into a LS Tranny. All are 94+ hydros. I've heard yes and no. I just need a good correct answer. Thanks guys.

 

Not without other parts... like a different set of end bearings.... the bearings for a B16LSD tranny...

but this was covered in a different thread somewhere, maybe it is archived.

you cannot just slap it in to your ls tranny after removing it from an itr tranny.

you CAN swap the LSD between itr and gsr trannies though, I know from experience.

 

does anyone know all the exact parts i will have to change out?? i did a search and have gotten so many mixed results. thanks

 

From what I have heard it will not work
But it may work if you change the final drive gear with a itr final drive you will also have to put new bearings and speedo gear on it
I ran into the same problem and that is what the guys at quaife told me but they couldn't guarantee
