Default NEED HELP WITH ROD BEARINGS

I recently took apart my built type r and replaced pistons after a 1000 miles.. I will be replacing my rod bearings and i want to make sure i get the right ones. My bearings are clevite 77 and they say "STD", does that mean it is just standard size??thanks in advanced for the help.

STD means sexually transmitted disease.lol
just messing around, yes it means standard.
check your used bearings right around the where the 2 halves part.
if there is excess wear right around there you may need a bit more clearance .
if the wear is light and right between 8 o clock and 4 o clock you are ok with that std set.
if you need more clearance you can buy a .001 extra clearance bearing set and use mix halves.
I have a set of clevite bearings in my garage I think they may fit your rod give me the part number you have and i'll check.

There is barely any wear if not any by the two halfs.

kool then you can go with a std sized set .
the set you have is the standard performance bearing set cb-1785 p
the set I have is cb-1785 h it is the tri armor high perfomance version of what you have.
check some pricing on the set I have and come back to me with $75 and get the deal of your life on a premium set of rod bearings.

Easy said than done..you have to measure the clearances..the easiest way would be to use Plastigage though using bore gauges is recommended if you want to be accurate..

you had to jump in for him.
the initial visual inspection of the bearing would tell a lot about whats goin on or not goin on.
I should have made him go out and order plastigage a bore gauge set some mics with standards, telescoping gauges.

Not to be silly but why replace them? With only a thousand miles on them seems like an unnecessary expense. It also leaves more potential for self induced damage. Also, why a piston change only after 1k? If damage then the extra $ is wise, but for compression change then I would rock the 1k bearings.

Might as well its only 50 bucks.. better to be safe then sorry and the piston change is because of two bad pistons by improper break in..
