Do I need any special tools? any help would be appreciate...thanks

Go out the day before working on the car and hit all the nuts on the exhaust with a good penetrating spray. I use CRC Power Lube, but others will probebly work as well.

The easiest (and safest) way to take exhaust bolts out are by heating them up with a propane torch available at any hardware store. NEVER simply use and airgun. They can break old rusted bolts and then you will spend a lot of time trying to get them out.

I agree with the heat. I just found the nifty-est (is that a word?) little gizmo at Home Depot. It converts a cigarette lighter with the flint removed into a small torch. Small size makes it easy to get to otherwise hard to reach bolts. Besides, I'm too poor for a propane torch.

I went and got replacement nuts/springs assembly for the cat the day before, then carefully sawed the old ones off. Worked out really well.
