Hey guys. My friend is having a problem. 93 Civic DX w/ a 94 Integra Swap (complete with ECU), motor has about 110k miles on it or so.
Car was eating alot of gas, so he got the timing adjusted and did a valve adjustment. The mechanic he brought it to said that it might be the MAP sensor AND that the wiring at the ECU side is messed up. He also said that the ECU was running in back-up mode, therefore using more fuel.
Before he got the adjustments, the car was getting around 160-175 miles to the tank.
After everything was done at the mechanics, he said that nothing changed with the car, and is still running pig rich.
Wiring on the car is fine (no wires were hacked or touched, since everything was plug n play), and the car is throwing NO codes. Could it just be a dirty MAP sensor? Also idle seems to be a little higher then normal, but the mechanic said that it was related to the ECU being in back-up mode.
Any insights or info? Need to get this problem resolved soon.
Thanks.
