Need help figuring out this electrical problem...
Okay, here's the problem-
Battery dies after my car had been sitting for a few days. Jump it and take it to Advance to get the charging system checked out and they say everything is fine. On the way back home I notice that the guage cluster is cutting out when I put on the turn signal and the stereo is turning off when I press the brakes. I get back and try to start the car (Advance charged the battery back up for me so it should start) and it won't start. Won't crank or anything.
If I put the key in the 'On' position and press the brake, put on the turn signal, put on the headlights, or anything else like that, the vtec controller will cut off and all the lights in the cluster will go dim. When I am lucky enough to get the car to start, it'll just die whenever I put on the turn signal or something. Now I know something is shorting out somwhere but I really can't figure out what it is. I haven't installed anything recently and all the connections for the VAFC are good. I've totally disconnected the stereo as well. Any thoughts before I break down and take this thing to some shady mechanic?
BTW, it's a 94 Civic EX with a 98 GSR swap. Thanks in advance..

that's a short check all your wiring for a rip or t wires touching. anything that should not be there
check all connections from the battery back sounds like corroded terminal bad connection losse terminal.i fixed a guys civic with a similar problem and the 8mm bolt where the battery connects to the underhood fuse panel was loose-just my 2/100

Battery connections and alternator belt are both fine. Besides, I don't think the battery has anything to do with it as it doesn't really do anything while the car is running. Maybe I'll start the car and disconnect the wires going to the battery and see if I still have the same problems, just to make sure.
