need help fast please please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey guys i need to know a couple of things because i have to finish wiring my car tomorrow it cant wait
i have a 88 dx hatchback and i need to wire it ls tomorrow i need to know a few things witch plug on the ecu is C is it the smallest one on this picture and what does CYP mean it says to run c1 and c2 to engine bay for CYP pwr and CYP gnd here is what i have done so far i have the a3 and a7 pins extended for the dpfi to mpfi changover and i need to know what this cyp stuff is and on the 88 dx harness is b10 and b12 empty if not what is there because it says to put c1 in b10 and c2 in b12
thanks alot to anyone who helps

if you really really need help ask JDMspecEG6 he did my b16a on my 1988 rex... just IM him he should check it sometime today.... sorry adam but this guy really needs your help
haha Mike, yea i'll try to walk you through this.... When i did mike's swap I traced all the wires myself because I didn't have any diagrams but I made some on my own....

I really hope this helps, but like I said I just wrote it out really quick.... lemme know if i can do anything else... Also did you get ur injectors wired??

thank you so much this is my first wiring second swap and everyone has told me to take it and get it wired or get a conv. harness but i really wanted to do this one myself and your diagram helped so much but i have one question are you saying that the ecu plugs are right to left when you are looking at the pin side i hope so cause that is the way i wired and yea i got my injectors wired but thanks anyway
hey man do recomend taping all of the wires then looming it or just taping it in a few places then puting it in loom
oh and another thing what do i do with the wires that i cut and replaced like the wires that were at a3 and a7 and is'nt there goin to be a few wires still there after you wire that distributer plug

Okay.... This is what you wanna do... When you hold the plug face it away from you as if you were goin to plug into the ECU... Actually you can just plug it into the ECU... Then on the back side of the plug where the wires come out this is where you know the location from.. First start with PLUG A, the top left pin (A1) that I am pretty sure is brown is for INJ1, directly underneigth that is pin A2 , then go one to the right from pin A1 and that will be pin A3 , underneigth A3 is A4 and so on... If you go straight across the top row everything will be wired wrong... Look at my picture... If you went across the top you would be reading all of the odd number pins ie A1, A3, A5, A7 etc.
My diagram is just as if you had the plugs plugged into the ECU and were looking at the wire side of the plugs... All Plugs A, B, and C read the same way... RIGHT NOW FROM UR PIC I'M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU HAVE PIN A7 WIRED WRONG, TO ME IT LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE IT IN PIN A13 BUT I COULD BE WRONG The only pins that read left to right would be the OBD2 ones... even OBD1 goes top to bottom, then one over to the top.. just as nonOBD does... Also motor building and wiring are things that I like absolutly perfect.. It's just me but when every i do a motor that requires any amount of rewiring I pull off the entire motor and interior loom. All you can see is a mess of wires... Then i add the wires where they need to go, wrap them up with new loom to fit the motor, and rewrap the whole loom in electrical tape... Basically I just like the engine bay to look stock, no wiring just coming through the firewall somewhere... When i did my friend jdmDXrex (Mike's) CRX this last April I had no clue what i was doing with nonOBD wiring... but since then I've made all of my diagrams off of it which makes it not so hard... I spent 3 days rewiring both harnesses but I'm really happy with how they turned out so it's okay.. Really most of the time was spent on just figuring out which wires were which since i didn't have any diagrams... If you need more help with the distributor just lemme know and i'll get back to you... Really after you get done there shouldn't be any extra wires besides maybe under by the ECU.... I cut out the Tandem valves wiring and used it for the pin since no other motor besides the DX runs it... Good Luck

yea man I did have it rong in that pic but i fixed it now my only other ? is what to do with the wires i cut from a3 and a7 do i just let them lay there or what and i have no idea whitch wires are tdc-,tdc+,ckp-,ckp+ the only ones i know are the cyp ones and how do i do those just match colors or what and im going from six pins to seven pins and im adding two so what do i to with the other wire
Yea the extra wires i just wrapped up with electrical tape and left them down below..... As for your the other wires... It's hard because i don't know what you have done.... Did you cut all the wires??? If so there was no reason to move the TDC+/- on the ECU side (TDC+/- = C3/4) and the CKP+/- should have been moved to B10/12 as I showed above.... The CYP+/- should now be at C1/2 and then you are basically set... If you have already cut the wires you may be able to match them up by color but it isn't what i would do in your situation.... I just use my voltmeter to test for continutity... Plug the harnesses together at the engine bay... On the motor harness you can see what pins are which on the distriubtor plug from my diagram above^^ then see when you get continuity between the known pin at the distributor plug and the wire down below... So if you know on the distributor plug that it is the TDC+ then when you get continuity down below you'll be sure that, that wire is the TDC+ which should be goin to pin C3... I always do this to double check my wiring anyways.... Good Luck and lemme know if you still need more help... Latez
Yup that's exactly right.... I'm not exactly sure where the extra pin in the distributor plug goes... So i'll go trace it in my friend Rex and get back to ya... Also did you flip the TPS positive and ground wires?? Just making sure cuz when I did my friend's that was one problem when it finally came time to starting it ran like ****.... I had no idea what wrong but when i reved it up it seemed to lean out and detonate so i figured that something was wrong with the fuel... When i voltmetered the TPS signal wire the i got a high reading of 4.5volts +... I thought about it and flipped the top and bottom wire on the TPS leaving the signal in the center.... Reset the ECU, started the car and it ran fine.... Lemme get back to ya as soon as I find out where that pin goes... Latez
yea man i switched the tps wires first thing so i wouldnt forget
soon as you get that let me know and i can stop bothering you
thanks ahead of time

thanks alot man i got it wired tonight and the whole time i was workin on wiring
slowhatch was working on the auto to manual
and wannab20hatch was working on the rear disk
but i got it wired and it is spiting code one and code six and it wouldnt turn over but we screwed around with the old auto wiring were the shifter was and got it to turnover but not crank so i guess i done something rong guess ill have to retrace myself and see what i did wrong but thank you so much youve been alot of help as to were everyone else just said get a conv. harness or take it somewere so thanks agian and soon as i get it goin ill post pics
