Default need help cluster not working

i have a civic 95 and my needles for the speed of the vehicule not working the RPM, gaz and the temperature working good ...

its happen after i have accidently drop a tool between the + of the starter and the ground of the vehicule

i have already check my fuse box but all seem to be ok ...

anyone have a idea ?

its most likely your speedometer cable. it runs from the back of your cluster to your transmission. if it wasnt the cable, then its the little gear inside your tranny. hopefully and most likely its your speedo cable, its about $20 from discount auto parts. good luck

That would be tough to fix considering his car does not have a speedo cable.

Is the speedo pointing at the zero mark, or has it flipped all the way around? I have seen the needle jump all the way over when improperly boosting the battery. If this is the case, a strong magnet held over the speedo and rotating it counter-clockwise can usually get it back.

If it is stuck at zero, you probably damaged the speed sensor in the tranny, which is located right around where you dropped the tool. First, make sure it is still connected and not busted. If it looks OK, you will then have to make sure it is sending a pulse signal, a little more involved.
