need help!!!! car wont start.......

Default need help!!!! car wont start.......

the problem is theres no spark!
things i checked or changed: fuses, wires(grounds), spark plug wires, and i even changed out the whole dist. cap... still no spark

what can it be???
anyone had this problem and fixed it, can you guys let me know the problem???

do you have spark coming out of the distributor? If not test the resistance of the coil. You will see a spring sticking out of the coil put one end of your multimeter on that spring and the other end of your multimeter on the positive terminal for the coil you the resistance should be 12.8-19.2K you also have to check the resistance of the negative and positive terminals on the coil but i cant remember what the spec for that is.

But if you have no spark coming out of the distributor you have either a bad coil or bad ignitor.

your cap is just the outside of the dizzy, not the insides

are you sure there is no spark take out the spark plug in cyl. #1 put it in its rightful wire and hold on to it(***** up now) and have someone try to turn the key on. If you dont get jolted then you now know you dont have a spark.. form here you can look to see if it is either your ICM or Coil and like he kid said with all the dough i would bet you as well that this is the case
