Need help, car not running smooth..
i was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on tuning, i think my car isnt tuned right. When im driving, and i go past the 3k mark, the car doesnt acclerate smooth, its like it lags, and goes up, but it hella struggles, also i can see my tach's needle jumping up and down in like .5k-1.5k increments. i dont know if its my timing, or if its cause my tyranny is messed up, or i just need new shocks. About my timing, i have the cam sproket set advanced 8degrees, and i set the distributor close as i can to stock, the red marker on the crankshaft. about my tyranny, i think my tyranny bearings are killed cause when im idling, you can hear grinding noise, but when i stick the clutch in it gets really quieter. For the shocks, i have killed shocks, but it feels the car feels the same way even driving on a smooth street. Does anyone have like some suggestions i can try? i dont have any money to put my car on a dyno and have them tune it for me, unless someone can hook me up for like 100, thats all i really have to spend. oh yeah, i have a 93 D16Z6, mods are cai/4-2-1 1piece Ceramic header/2 1/4 exhaust piping, JG camshaft, and AEM camgear. please, if anyone can give me any kind of advice where i can fix it myself, that would be great. Thanks alot guys.
TTT,
i checked my compression. cylinder #1 - 114psi, #2 -120psi, #3-124psi, #4 -150psi. Is that good or bad? also i found oil on my spark plugs in cylinder 3 and 4.
anyone??

Usually, a going bad iginiter will cause your tech to start jumping around, like you mentioned. Try replacing it first, and see how the engine acts.
It sounds like your throw out bearing is going bad. That might explain why it quits down, when you have the pedal pushed.
Those are not very good numbers. Might try checking them again to make sure...
Also, was that oil on the part of the plug that goes in the cylinder, or was it on the outside?

about the tyranny, i already had the throwout bearing changed when i got my clutchmaster put in, and some other transmission shop said hte noise was my tyranny bearings.
and for the compression numbers, ill try it again.
and the oil was on the spark plugs where they go in the clynder, the part where you gap the plugs at.
well i still need help with the compression. my numbers should be close to 200 right? what should they be around? anyone? do you guys think its because of the headgasket or something? man...i just had the headgasket changed last summer tooo...dammmit if its the headgasket again. fudge.
