Default Need help with battery/charging system

My car was starting slowly so I checked the battery and the alternator while I was at it. The battery checked out bad and the alternator was good. So yesterday I replaced the battery. Before I got a chance to do that the charging system light came on. I replaced the battery and the light stayed on. Later that night the lights got real dim and the guages stopped working. Then today the same thing happened until the clock and stuff were totally dark and then the car just stopped and wouldnt start or do anything. I got the new battery checked and it was dead. I put a new battery in and the charging system light is still on. I doubt both batteries are bad and the alternator was already checked. What could be my problem? The car is a 95 Civic EX with a gsr swap and the motor has been in there for 6 months. Also since I'm sure soneone will ask the terminals are tight.

Alternator ground......check it. Sand the chasis where it mounts and sand the connector and remount.

Don't forget to check your fuses.

First I checked the fuses and they were all ok. Then I looked for the alternator ground wire. In front of the alternator on the body was a bolt with 2 strands of wire hanging off it. Is that where the ground wire should be? If so where should a new wire connect to the alternator? Also looking for that I also noticed a pretty blatant problem. The alternator belt was gone. So I at least need a new belt. But is that bolt with the threads the ground wire? I'm thinking however the belt came off maybe it took the wire with it.

LMAO They don't charge very well without a belt, do they?

That brightened the day....thanx

But a thick wire [probably your ground lead] with only 2 strands of wire connecting it to a bolt is something that needs attention.
