Default need help asap! starter question

i drive it a 91 civic si. so i have a sohc zc motor and i need to replace the starter, i bought a starter for a 91 civic and it looks kinda different connections in different place and the drive for the starter is longer. so i tried to fit it in and the drive is, too long. so it doesnt go in all the way. anyone? i thought all d series starters fit.

nvm its not too long, i just realized the starter wont go in all the way because the tranny or something prevents it from going in straight.... what do i do now? lol

You'll want to get the year code off of the motor to be sure you get the right part.

year code? well this is what i did so far

well right now i just flipped the starter so i guess its upside down? i have two efs so i looked at the starter on my other one, and the connections are toward the front of the car. on the one im working on, i have flipped it so the connections are toward the rear of the car. is this ok? im not gonna start it until i get confirmation haha.

There are two different starters your motor could have come with. There are pics of both at autozone.com.
