Default Need Help! arp rod bolts/ LS Rods !!

b18b motor stock rods.

http://shopping.lightningmotor...d=127

Ok heres the deal. i found these 8mm arp rod bolts thats says will work on ls motors becaues they have the smaller size. Well my friend keeps bitching to me that i have to get them resized and balanced because inside the rod cap where the bolt goes in theres a little Ridge. And started to blaber on about throwing rods but then again he has ben an idiot from time to time. Can anyone plz shed some light on me. they wouldnt sell those bolt kits if you couldnt use them right out of the box. I already hammered out the stock ones and this one of the main things holding me up. think i can use these bolts?

They should be resized when arp bolts are installed. And many parts are sold that require machine work to be installed such as pistons,valves,etc...

have the inside bore measured. it doesnt cost much to have it done and u can dial in your clearances for acl bearings. but as long as the bores arent distorted some people are fine with that

yea, you always recon the rods after you change the studs. don't half *** 100$ in machine work at most.

Well i talked to the guy at work that use to run the machine shop out back before the hurricane. and now i understand what needs to be resized but what the kid pointed out to me was talking about resizing the actual holes for the bolts. but yeah i am going to go ahead and get them resized although i have to pull the motor again its cheap insurance.
