Need Help - all you electronic junkies :)
I would like for someone to build me a connector for an RS232 (9 pin serial port) which can be used to plug into a cellphone to transmit data via cellphone or internet which would be received by another device connected to the RS232 port on my laptop or via a modem on my laptop. Can this be done ?
Apparently my engine management system, Speedpro, has a feature which can send datalogging info via the internet for a pitcrew to see whats happeneing with the car, a small option I think.
thanks,
Greg

But all in all, as it does seem possible, I think you will find it more trouble then its worth. It looks good on paper, but I dont see the praticality of doing real time data logging from so far away from the car, if you aren't road racing.

Interesting...don't think that it's NHRA legal though...or at least that's what I believe I read the last time I was reading the rule book(2 weeks ago)

hey austin, only thing I saw was no traction control system, datalogging is allowed as far as I can tell.

Greg,
Speak to Ralphie, he was just discussing this subject last night.
To sum up his conversation, he said that the NHRA outlawed it.
