Default need help, '91 si w/ b16a and bolt-ons

i just picked up a '91 civis si that has a b16a swapped into it. the guy i got it from just put some aftermarket cams in it but didn't go through the hassle of timing the engine. so i timed it and at the moment, it runs pretty good. problem is, it has a field's vtec controller and i don't know what fuel points i should use until i have enough money to get the thing tuned. the car has intake, full exhaust, 4-1 header, aftermarket cams and cam gears. i got the cam gears set at +5 on both and the vtec controller is on but i just turned the fuel points off. the car pulls hard up to 9 grand as is but when i turn the fuel points on, the car seems to pull al ittle harder on the low end but won't rev past 6 grand and the idle is off as well. if someone wouldn't mind, i need an idea of what the cam gears and fuel points on the vtec controller should be set at. and no, i don't know exactly what kind of cams are in the car which is why i haven't mentioned what kind they are yet. need a little help here.

I wouldn't advance the cam timing that far on either cam. Set the cam timing back to zero on both and undo any attempt at tuning that has been done with the VTEC controller. Now take your car to a dyno tuning facility and have them tune it. The car should run fairly well without any kind of tuning if you have nothing but bolt ons, so just leave it at that until you can have it tuned.
