Need Help.....
I have a 1992 Civic lx D15B7. I replaced the HG about a month ago and now i have an oil leak that i can't determine where its coming from. I changed the oil twice already and it doesn't seem to hold all of the 3.5 quarts i put in. It's stays at about 2 or 2.5 quarts but leaks after i shut off the car. Anyone else have/had this problem? This weekend i plan on tearing it apart to try to find the leak. Any kinda help would be great.
Don't most Honda engines require 4.2 liters or 4.5 quarts? The only thing I can think of is your Oil filter is not on correctly or you stripped your oil drain plug. If it isn't those do a compression check.
If i'm not mistaken it only gets 3.5 quarts. The filter is on tight and the drain plug isn't stripped. I guess compression test it is. The oil is coming from drivers side of engine.
If you replaced your HG, didn't you also have to remove your valve cover
before getting to the head bolts? Make sure you didn't over torque or pinch
your valve cover gasket, or did you use the old one?
