Default NEED HELP!!!

I just finished my swap in my 98Si (Canadian) with a B18b1 94 teg engine, when I started it up it and got a CEL so I took it to Canadian Tire and they couldnt give me a code due to it couldnt find the motor....they plugged it in the proper OBD plug and they told me that the computer couldnt find the motor, the motor also shakes really bad when I drive and it only revs up to 3500RPM cauze im thinkin its in limp mode due to that .....so y isnt it pickin up on the computer???

Do Canadian cars work the same as the US cars in that the 96 up cars would be obd2 and the 95 and older would be obd1?

Did you swap ecu's or keep the original one?

What motor was in it originally? I really know nothing about Canadian cars and know nothing about there being a 98 si.

it had a d16y8 in it before and I threw in the b18b, with the conversion harness I also put in a PR4 OBD1 chipped ECU

I don't think the tester will ever read the ecu because its an obd1 motor in an obd2 car, but don't quote me on that.

Have you tried searching? I know I have heard of stuff like this, but can't quite recall what it is.

Maybe its the crank angle sensor?

I'm betting you switched from OBD2 to OBD1, and you will have to use the jumper switch to read the code instead...
